Brouwerij De Molen is a craft brewery, based in Holland. All of their beers are named after two opposites as opposites attract and ingredients that shouldn’t go together, actually go well together! One of their beers is called “Water & Fire (Water & Vuur)”, another one “Short & Sweet (Kort & Krachtig)”. De Molen is part of Swinkels Family Brewers who also own La Trappe, Rodenbach and Bavaria, to name a few.

We have four of their beers on special offer for you. They are available in packs of 24 at 50% off, packs of 12 at 40% off and we’ve put together a mixed case as well at 30% off. Perfect if you’ve not tried these beers before and want to sample three of them.

Water & Vuur is translated as Water & Fire. It is classed as a NEIPA (New England India Pale Ale) and has an alcohol content of 6%. If you like your beers hoppy, then this is the beer for you as it’s made from Cryo Citra, Lemondrop, Simcoe, Mosaic, as well as Wheat Malt and Oatmeal. This Dutch beer is best drunk between 4-6 degrees Celsius. It goes very well with a curry.

Kort & Krachtig is translated as Short & Sweet. It is a Farmhouse Ale with an ABV of 6.1%. This type of beer used to be brewed by farmers in the winter to be drunk in the summer. It is light coloured and hoppy, brewed using Premiant, Cascade, Columbus and Wheat Malt. It is best served at 7 degrees Celsius.

Op & Top is translated as Above & Beyond and is a pale ale with an ABV of 4.5%, making it a perfect sessional ale in the warmer months to come. It is less hoppy than the other two beers and sits in between being a lager and craft beer. It is a perfect drink with pizza and best served between 4-6 degrees Celsius.

Vuur & Vlam is translated as Fire & Brimstone and is classed as an India Pale Ale (IPA). It is 6.2% in strength and made from Cascade, Columbus, Citra and Chinook. This is quite hoppy and bitter and pairs well with spicy dishes.

If you are a lover of light, refreshing, blond beers then you really cannot go wrong with these. The mixed case contains four each of:

  • Water & Vuur
  • Op & Top
  • Vuur & Vlam
