Beer Description: An unfiltered “Indian Pale Ale” type of beer that was first brewed in 2006, under the name Chouffe Houblon. It had a rebrand in 2025 and its name changed to Chouffe IPA. Three types of hops are used to make this and it has a pleasant fruitiness. In 2015, Chouffe IPA was awarded a Bronze Medal at the World Beer Awards for the category of “Imperial IPA”.
The first batch of Chouffe beers was brewed in 1982 by two brothers-in-law and beer lovers, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, who decide to create their own beer in the garage belonging to Chris’ mother-in-law. This hobby turned into a Belgian beer success story. In 2006, Brasserie D’Achouffe joined Duvel Moortgat, which has allowed it to grow further.
