Beer Description: Brugse Zot Blond is a Flemish golden beer, translated as the Fool of Bruges. It is produced by brewing four different types of malt and two varieties of hop. The only beer that is brewed and lagered in Bruges. In 2013, it was awarded a Gold Medal at the World Beer Awards for the category of Europe’s Best Belgian Style Blonde. In both 2024 and 2025, Brugse Zot Blond was awarded a silver medal at the World Beer Awards.
Brugse Zot Blond is brewed by Brouwerij De Halve Maan, which is based is Bruges. This Belgian brewery dates back to 1856 and has been a family-run brewery for six generations. As the brewery is based in the middle of Bruges, in 2016, they built the first ever underground beer pipeline to connect the brewery to a new bottling plant on the outskirts of the city. Brouwerij De Halve Maan also brew Straffe Hendrik and Blanche de Bruges beers.
