Abbey / Trappist Beers Overview

Abbey beer is associated with a specific Abbey but not necessarily brewed by Monks. Trappist beer is defined as beer that is produced by Cistercian Monks either within or close to a monastery. In total, there are only seven Trappist breweries in the world and six are found in Belgium. These are Achel, Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle and Westvleteren.

Beers to Share Overview

This section lists all of our larger size bottles that are perfect for sharing.

Blonde Beers Overview

Blonde Belgian beers were first produced in the early 20th century to compete with the Pilsener. Typically, they have more aroma, more flavour and have higher alcohol content. However, they are still easy drinking, top-fermented and medium to full-bodied. You will notice that one blonde doesn’t taste the same as another. There are lots to choose from on our website so why not make your way down the list!

Fruit Beers Overview

Fruit beers are not necessarily lambic, however many lambic beers are fruit flavoured. The fruit not only determines the taste, but also the colour and character of the beer. There are lots of flavours to choose from, even chocolate!

Wheat Beers Overview

Wheat beers, otherwise referred to as Wit in Flanders, are made with half malted barley and half non-malted wheat, resulting in a cloudy beer. Wheat beers are usually seasoned with spice and have a relatively low alcohol content compared to other types of Belgian beer. The most common wheat beer is Hoegaarden, however more do exist.
